Why are people SO OBSESSED with making Samus "human"?? To the point where they just kind of stand upside down on their hands and say "EVEN THOUGH WE WANT HER TO BE COMPLETELY PATHETIC IT'S OK B ECAUSE SHE NEEDED TO BE HUMAAAAAAAN!!!!"

Metroid isn't a fucking space opera it's a video game about a woman bounty hunter fighting for peace in the galaxy. This is the most ass backwards thinking I've ever seen in my life when it comes to a female protagonist. People are so desperate to give Samus a legitimate human personality because she's a woman and even fictional women need attention apparently. But by doing so they have come up with the most sexist and blatantly stereotypical bullshit EVER.

So let me get this straight; your go-to method for adding some humanity to a strong sparsely characterized woman is to make her feel so ALONE?

Here's something appropriate for her to say: "Jesus fuck finally it's over now I can go back to Space Station Alpha 3, have a fucking iced coffee and enjoy my new found appreciation for life and peace. Maybe even play a good video game like Kirby 64."

I don't even want to talk about Other M even though it kind of seals the deal, I just want to talk about the fans who go along with this shit. Is it more depressing that Samus's hurted feelings are now canon, or that this is what "metroid" fans want? To put it very briefly: Samus has serious mommy issues and becomes completely and uncharacteristically pathetic and useless due to her attachment to a man named Adam. Going so far as to jeaporidize every fucking body by not using her equipment until Adam gives her permission. The tutorial teaches how you to use the power bomb, then the game starts and Adam shows up and that tutorial may as well not even have existed. Adam is not her commander or superior in any way, remember she's a BOUNTY HUNTER. Adam is in the GALACTIC FEDERATION. None of this even mattered until Other M came along and dumped it's buttload of drama all over this series.
