I've recently figured out that the PS3 can go into my laptop. I then wanted to play SMBC with the controller, but too bad I couldn't figure out how to set the whole thing up.

Can anyone tell me how to play ANY flash game with a PS3 controller???

if u already can connect your ps3 control to your pc, the rest is easy. download joytokey and it will allow you to play smbc with a ps3 control by making your computer think that you are pressing keys on the keyboard. it works great, and after you set it up u just load your saved button settings and start playing smbc. heres a link to a page that jay posted that also explains this: http://www.explodingrabbit.com/articles/how-to-play-flash-games-with-a-gamepad
just type in joytokey on google and download it, its free and easy to use

I'm actually using my Playstation Dual Shock controller from the first playstation using that same software. Its allot more responsive than a mouse.

I do this. I use a program called. motioninJoy. it's a program made for the PS3 controller. and it comes with a in made keyboard mapper. you have to download an offline set up thing seperately if you want to configure it when you're not hooked up to the net. but it's a damn good program. i use it. and it's key mapper works like a charm. :D it's made for the PS3 controller. and you can also have it emulate a ps2 and ps1 controller :D so if ... lets say for some reason the PS3 controller settings isn't working on an emulator. sometimes you might want to make it say PS2 or ps1. and other times it's just a good idea to keyboard map it :p hope I was helpful.

lol i use an PS2 controller (usb modification of course) with joy2key, it lags a bit but its sure hella better than keyboard.

(dunno if this is on-topic but i just wanted to say that)

motioninJOy is about 5000 billion times better than Joy2key for PS3 controllers.

    but I'd suggest joy2key for a PS2 controller for sure :D

I have a pretty crappy controller, especially the D-pad, but it works ok with Joy2Key. Should I check motioninJoy?

That looks like an awesome controller next to my "PSC DualJoy" (that's the actual name imprinted on it)

I use JoyToKey and i don't have any lag. However for Sonic Boll there is native support so no issues.

The D-pad of mine is BAAAAD, that's why I'd like to change my controller. :p Try playing Castlevania (the 3 for more fun) and you'll get so much cheap deaths...

This is what I use for
    • SMBC
    • Every emulator I have
    • Every MMO I've ever played (or ever will play)
    • Controlling the mouse when I'm bored or lazy

    Those are the joysticks here.
1447536_4.jpg <the rubber membranes are all cut, making it a perfect game-loser. But it shines blue with two very strong leds, and it's used when the USB hub can't provide enough power for the others.
CONTROLE COMPUTADOR.jpg <this is the best controller we could ever dream of. intelliigent analog modes, on-the-fly programming of Turbo action, smooth and precise analog sticks... except for the fact that the face buttons are reversed from the standard configuration.
We also have 2 Wiimotes + 1 NC but we rarely use them on the pc. But once i played Sonic Boll with a wiimote... Some fun shaking for Fire Bursts.

s_MLB_v_O_f_193291747_6514.jpg <this one is dead. first it fell enough times for both handles to be gone, then the button faces lost the markings, then the rumble motors fell off, then both rubber tips became shiny and slippery, then the connector tip oxidated till it became a green flaky mess. Then it died honorably during a heated Smash Bros 64 match, which was the only thing it was used for. Lasted pretty long for a $10 controller.
xbox-360-wired-game-controller-black.jpeg <the other looks like this but instead of the xbox logo it's a white label written "x-pro" and it has a rubberish finish through all the surface. And the four lights are used just to signal the analog state which, curiously, is switched by pressing the central button. With some graphyte powder it became the most sensitive controller of all and even though it has a broken shoulder button, it's the staple controller around.

Kaillera is a really great client. ;):?:

My controller(s) always lose function in the D-pad after a month or two of casual use (no throwing controllers around or jamming the directions, just normal gameplay) and we bought the 5$ warranty on it when we first got it, so every time one stops working, we just take it into Best Buy with the receipt and get a new one for free; been going on for over a year. :awesome:

I used to call my psx controller 'nightmare' referencing the Metroid Fusion boss.
We don't have such friendly warranty terms here in Brasil. you only get a replacement for the next day or two, except for button jamming which they call 'normal use' or 'user's responsibility'.

I guess I should consider my piece of shit controller a wonderful tool just for working, and my standard warranty nothing short of a deity's blessing. :joy:
Cynicism aside I am grateful for the fact that I can still get 'em.

I was sorta surprised I could bring it in for that problem, when it first happened. I thought it would be considered something like that and they'd shove me out the door, but I guess it's a fairly common problem with my brand of controller.

I have a PS2 to USB Connector, but now i only use it for playing FOFIX with my old PS2 Guitar Controller, since now i have a Wired X360 Controller. 10 Buttons, 2 Analogs, 2 Triggers and a D-Pad make it very good for any game (Besides games meant to use the mouse, like FPSs or Sims or Strategy Games)

EDIT: Holy Shit! This thread is old, man! Well, what's done it's done.
  17. ZeroXBeoulve Level 8: Hammer Bro

I figured out that my controller is actually really easy to take apart and readjust the buttons into the correct place, or clean it if need be; easy to clean too. :)

Yay for old life having new breath.

I downloaded Motioninjoy, but it's not showing up. What do I do now? And when I do get it to show up, how do I use the PS3 controller in the game. Like, how do I get the controller to get used in the game?
  19. Rey D Level 9: Spike Top

I downloaded Motioninjoy but didnt' manage to make it work. So I use JoyToKey.
  20. Captain Knight Level 9: Spike Top

Does JoyToKey work with PS3 controllers? If so, how do I start it up and use it in a video game?
