Okay, I've been asking around on Bill's thread, and it seems that nobody really likes the Flamethrower weapon. Maybe Konami didn't like it either, as it was the only weapon to be changed completely in the sequel Super C. Why don't we use that version in SMBC? It shoots fireballs that explode when they hit, and it's the only 8-bit Contra weapon that can be charged, making it more distinctive.
Whaaaaaaaat? But the fireball kicks ass. It does the most damage per bullet of any of Bill's weapons and doesn't have as poor accuracy as everyone says it does.
Nope! He LOVES 2.0. That's why he's been tossing out so many suggestions. He doesn't think most of them are legitimate FLAWS with the game, just a way to make something awesome even better.
→ Oh alright. I've been a bit tired recently, so I'm misunderstanding. Anyway, I don't think the Flamethrower should be changed. It's fine as it is. Fun to play with.
I could go either way, honestly. The current flamethrower does have its problems, though. Its slow speed can leave Bill undefended for long periods of time (it's worse than the laser in that regard), and it does tend to introduce a lot of slowdown if used in the wrong spots.
Sits back stunned to learn that the fireball weapon in Super C can be charged! Back on topic, I'm all for adding the Super C fireball weapon to the game, perhaps even as an upgrade to the original fireball weapon, but I wouldn't want the original fireball weapon removed. I actually really like the original fireball weapon, if only for its uniqueness and the nostalgia that it brings back. By the way, is it just me, or does it seem a bit odd that the original fireball weapon is the only one that currently pierces the armor of buzzy beetles and spike tops? If only one of the weapons can pierce, I would have thought it would be the laser, which has a lot less range and is much more focused than the fireball. It even does multiple hits with one shot. If the Super C fireball weapon is added, then make a charged fireball shot the only other weapon that can pierce armor.
All I see is nothing but changes wanted from you. He put in a massive update and yet you ask for more.
Not sure if you're talking to me or Theomanzero, but let's be clear about a few things: We are all very grateful for the immense amount of work Jay and Ryuza put into the update. It is without a doubt one of the best online flash and crossover games ever created and it's addicting as hell. We're not just out asking for more features, we are also reporting bugs, designing skins, and actively participating in other areas on the forums. If Jay didn't want more feedback on ways to further improve the game, I doubt a "Features" thread would have been created on the forums. It's pretty clear that Jay listens to his fans - it's because of suggestions from the community that we got the awesome new skins and music (which was not part of his original vision), an unanticipated Dr. Wily skin, and the Lost Levels to look forward to in the next major update. Just recently Jay added a great new invisible skin to the game, thanks to a good suggestion from a member of the community. The features requested are part of a wishlist which Jay is free to consider or not. I understand that you are especially grateful for the hard work put in this game, which I admire, but I don't like the insinuation that just because others are giving suggestions in the forums they are somehow ungrateful.
"All I see is nothing but changes wanted from you. He put in a massive update and yet you ask for more." The point of this sub-forum is to ask for shit.
But this is Bill from Contra... Of course you will use the Mega Man argument could come into play. But I like it the way it is. Is there anything you like about 2.0 at all?
Anyway, Ryu has the Spin Slash from NG1, the Fireball Ninpo from NG2, and the Sword Extension from NG3. And what do you mean "Bill from Contra"? Super C is Contra as much as Ninja Gaiden 3 is Ninja Gaiden and Mega Man 2 is Mega Man. It's a series, not a single game. Look, I just brought this up because I noticed a lot of people complaining about the Flamethrower in Bill's thread and I knew there was an alternative. If you really like the current Flamethrower that much, then never mind.
. . . So? I'm sorry, but I just don't understand you. I'm suggesting that Bill have the same number of weapons that he does now, which would not make him any less simple, really.
