Sorry for being an asshole earlier was in a bad mood also didnt realize what area this thread was in.
Im just saying. Since Ryu and Mega Man has alot of weapons. It's just interesting that's all. I just played SMBC and got the flamethrower. It's not the best but it's a fun weapon to use.
I wouldn't put it so bluntly, but I agree. I think it would just be odd to have two variations of the same weapon. (Though I did consider this for a while before deciding against it.) EDIT: This makes sense to me -- making the Charged Flamethrower Bill's armor-piercing weapon, I mean. I think Jay just made the Flamethrower the armor-piercing weapon to encourage people to use it because it's the least practical. However, a charged shot from Bill's only chargeable weapon makes more sense piercing armor. This is very useful. Thank you.
The fireball weapon has more range than the laser and I think it has about the same projectile speed. I understand we want to give better incentive to use fireball over spread, so I'm all for making the fireball more powerful (or upgradeable...see below), but I still think the laser which has the least range should be the piercing shot. I actually think having both weapons in the game is a decent idea. There aren't a lot of weapons/upgrades for Bill as compared with other characters. As I mentioned, the Super C fireball weapon could be a collectible upgrade to the existing fireball weapon - that's a better incentive to collect it than to just make it armor piercing.
Armor piercing or not, it still sucks. I think we should just remove all the armor piercing properties of weapons and have those enemies be invincible. You can avoid them. Also, all of Bill's weapons are full screen so I am not sure where the "less range" thing comes into play.
Give me one way to EASILY get past the start of World 8-1 without the Fireball Ninpo with Ryu and I'll reconsider.
Walk slowly and only scroll one of them onto the screen at a time. That's what I had to do with my Peashooter run. Reconsider.
I actually thought of that while writing. I will not reconsider because of one golden phrase: When you want a weapon to be removed, don't use it!
I didn't say to remove it, just to remove the armour piercing. I thought that was the whole point of spike tops, that you couldn't do anything to them.
If you don't mind my asking, what was your first console? It seems you can tell a lot about people based on that alone.
I guess no armor piercing could be introduced in a new Extreme difficulty setting (and/or as a new cheat), but I personally doubt I'd ever use it.
