I think he should be in the game, here are my ideas: (watch out its a long post) Forms: Basic form: SMB 1 form (green); Mushroom form: SMB castle form (dark green); Fire flower form: SMB3 form Features: Basic form: 1 hammer toss, slow Mushroom form: 2 hammer toss + boomerang toss OR fireball toss, a bit faster Fire flower form hammer toss + Fireball toss OR boomerang toss, twice as fast Music: (following themes are from SMB3) Character selection: Enemy battle theme (beginning only, like mario) Overworld: Overworld theme Night: Athletic theme Underground: Underground theme Water: Underwater theme Castle: Fortress theme Coin heaven: Music Box or P-switch theme or Warp island theme Level clear: Fireworks Fanfare Castle clear: King's room Invincible: Star theme Life lost: Life lost theme Game over: Game over theme Ending: Ending theme
I'd rather say a triple jump. Anyway, I don't think it'd be fun to play as a Hammer Brother 'cause they haven't got much animations. In the 2 first SMB (SMB and the Lost Levels), they have only 4 sprites.
In my mind enemies should just stay as enemies, not playable characters. (Well, except Bowser. Maybe)
This is some forward thinking. Especially if the sprites from SMB3 or SMW were used. Though I have to agree with everyone else, they would need to sped up.
You forgot the big, bad, Sledge Bros too (those that hang out in Giant Land in SMB3). But yeah, Hammer Bros may not have the same foot-speed as some characters, but hell, they can jump THROUGH bricks.
