That'd be great. The only thing that drives me nuts about having the sound on is the repetitive annoying sound of gathering coins, but I withstand it just for the enjoyment of the rest of the sounds all from their respective games. I think there should be an option to turn it off.
The coin noises are fine, and I think your the only one who cares anyway. Play with sounds on or off.
I doubt highly that I'm the 'only one who cares', because I know for a fact that I'm not the only one in the world who gets bothered by annoying-ass noises.
Don't collect coins? Though I must admit it sounds weird when playing with another character than Mario brothers.
Well, I play survival mode so FUCK YOU I'm getting all those bitches. But I don't think my girlfriend appreciates it when I want to hear the game's music and sound effects and the coin noise blares above all those while I'm playing in teh same room with her and she's trying to sleep. If not for the coin sounds, it would at least be quiet and not too irritating when I'm going around getting everything I can, trying to powerup all my characters.
And I already considered that before posting the thread, for a fraction of a second before deciding: FUCK THAT.
Sorry, but this is way too specific to make a feature, especially since you're the only one bothered by it. Has there ever been a video game with the option to turn off one specific sound effect? Can anyone give me an example?
Has there ever been a game like Mario Crossover? I'm probably not the only one in the world who thinks it would be a lot less annoying to play with the coin sound off, but I can see how for some it might ruin the mario experience. Edit: Also why is the only argument about me being the 'only one who cares.' Other people out there just don't know about this thread is all.
It doesn't really bother me much; just everyone around me who isn't playing. But then it doesn't sound like some of you have that to worry about.
On one hand, I think coin sounds are annyoing. On the other, the game would sound *really* weird without them. Obvious solution: lower the volume of the coin sounds by about 20-25%.
This could work. Seconded. If you're going to be playing a game in a room with other people, headphones are common courtesy.
I admit that there are times that I find the coin sounds a bit annoying, but only from highly extended playing. But I also agree that the game would seem super weird without them. The option to reduce the volume might be all that is needed. Another option would be to use a different sound effect; I have just posted a request for GB and SNES sound effects on the forum.
I am pretty sure every single PC in existence already has volume controls. Plus you can plug headphones into the audio jack on the back of your computer. In short, you have options other than "Make Jay do more work".
