Official Simon Belmont: What a horrible night to be a goomba.

    Would be awesome.
Basing a sheet on a single sprite like that is not easy though... i will look into it when i have more time.
  2. TheomanZero Level 7: Bloober

Mainly I just want 16-bit Simon's head to actually look like his character portrait. Hell, even recoloring 16-bit Trevor's hair and pasting it on his head might work.
  3. MikePjr Level 2: Koopa

I tried to do that with my CV2 simon, he's basically based off the box art of that particular simon.
  4. MasterShizzle Level 5: Spiny

I like the adjustments made in 2.0 to Simon; it made him play closer to the original. I especially like how the enemy has a slight freeze after getting hit with anything; it's saved my bacon quite often against Hammer Bros. and now it's no longer suicide to try using the whip against strong enemies on Very Hard, even when underpowered.
  5. Nemephosis Level 6: Lakitu

I find it actually makes things maybe too easy... I also do not know for sure if it works on Bowser or not. I doubt it, but then, the stopwatch does....

    My votes:
Jumping: Classic: 2/5. Worst jumping in game. Normal: 4/5. Good.
X-Attack: Wow, that was good! 4/5
    C-Attack: Just awesome. 5/5.
Mushroom powerup: It's pretty good, i have to say it deserves a 3/5. Not a lot changed.
Fire powerup: DUDE, THAT'S AWESOME! 5/5.
overall, i have to give this a 4/5. on classic version, i give a 3/5.
  7. MasterShizzle Level 5: Spiny

Sometimes that's okay. I'm the kind of person who saves up stuff for the end fight, usually with Simon I spam axes at Bowser because I don't use them for anything else. Just like playing any Final Fantasy game, where I'll end the final boss fight with a bloody great mountain of Elixirs I didn't want to use.
  8. Paul Vincent Larcena Level 1: Goomba

I have a question, what is the name of simon's theme when he is at night stage? its kind a cool theme.
  9. Rey D Level 9: Spike Top

→ I'm going to check. But could you precise which Simon you were playing as? It'd save me from having to check with every Simon skin. :p

EDIT: and also which map skin.
EDIT 2: and on which levels.
EDIT 3: One level with its skin will be enough.

EDIT 4: At 4-1 with SML2 skin, it's night time. Soooo...
    • With Simon from Castlevania 1st, it's Wicked Child, the 3rd stage in Castlevania 1st. (both link lead you to the same music)
    • With Cursed Simon (the name I give to Simon from Simon's Quest), it's Monster Dance, the night theme. (both links leads to the same music)
EDIt 5: With Trevor from Dracula's Curse, the music is Aquarius (I don't know which stage or whatever, I've never made it that far). Looks like it's Stage 7. (both links lead to the same music)
With Trevor GB, I have no idea.
But you probably wasn't talking about these skins anyway.

I play as simon, not trevor, in the world 3(night stage) what is the name of the theme? in SNES version?
  11. Rey D Level 9: Spike Top

→ SNES? It's "Simon's Theme" or "Theme of Simon Belmont". Or less popularly called "Dance of the Holy Man". It's the first stage (block 2) of Super Castlevania IV. It's probably the second music you can hear in that game.

EDIt: Checked SMBC. That's it. Simon's Theme.
  12. CuvisTheConqueror Level 2: Koopa

Maybe that's something that should be changed for the next version; after all, in the CV games, I think the only boss that is affected by the watch is Medusa in CV1.

Also, random thought: maybe SNES Trevor could use music from the Japanese version of CV3? They used a special chip in that to where, while it's not quite 16-bit, it sounds quite a bit more advanced than the NES version.

  13. Rey D Level 9: Spike Top

→ Well, it's NES, not quite close to 16-bit sounds.
  14. TheomanZero Level 7: Bloober

Would that work with the NES sound emulator SMBC uses? If so, then that's a great idea.

I know, but having Trevor use music from a game he's not even in doesn't quite sit right with me for some reason.

  18. TheomanZero Level 7: Bloober

Oh, I misread that -- I thought you were suggesting the Japanese CV3 music for NES Trevor. I can't say I really approve of using 8-bit sound for a 16-bit character. Sorry.
  19. kakoloukia Level 2: Koopa

I was using Simon earlier today and it hit me: what if ? blocks and/or enemies randomly dropped a rosary that clears the screen of all foes, just like Castlevania? Probably not the most practical thing in the world at first glance, but it might prove useful in later stages when Hammer Bro hammers and Bullet Bills begin to limit your avenues of escape.
  20. Rey D Level 9: Spike Top

→ That's a good idea, but I'd rather gain a power-up whe I need one. Instead, I'd rather want ennemies to drop rosaries. :)
