Ryu Hayabusa Specific Tips

  • When playing as Ryu, make sure to properly utilize all of his different traits.
  • Choose your sub-weapon wisely!
:*The initial shuriken is weak, but its long range make it a good weapon for sniping enemies.
:*The windmill shuriken is fast-paced, pierces armor, and thanks to its boomerang motion, it can deal multiple hits; dodging it when it swerves back towards Ryu causes it to continue its path of destruction. However, its path is awkward and takes some time to get used to.
:*The jump slash is useful for passing through regular enemies or bricks, and deals the most damage, but it deprives Ryu of a ranged weapon.
:*The fire ring toss is a very effective weapon, being excellent against airborne enemies like Lakitu thanks to its diagonal-upward motion, but is almost useless against grounded enemies.
:*The fireball ninpo deals moderate damage and pierces armor, and its diagonal-downward motion is very useful in all sorts of situations, especially when Ryu is high-placed. However, it isn't particularly useful for attacking multiple enemies in front of Ryu.

Original Game

Ryu Hayabusa is from Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II, and Ninja Gaiden III for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Differences From the Original Game

  • Ryu can climb up and down walls without having to jump repeatedly.
  • In the original game, Ryu could wall jump between two walls by holding down the jump button and pressing in the opposite direction of the wall he is clinging to. In Crossover, the player must press the jump button every time they want to jump off of a wall.
